New Member Walkthrough
DATE & TIME
10/20/2019
8:00 am - 10:00 am
LOCATION
200 Yard Range
NOTE: The AGC will suspend the issuance of range badges for the remainder of 2019 on October 18th to prepare for the issuance of 2020 range badges starting on November 1st. You may still sign up for the October 20th walkthrough, but you will not be able to purchase a range badge immediately following that walkthrough. If you would like to wait until after November 1 to participate in a walkthrough, then please sign up for one of the walkthroughs to be held in November, December or January. Note that any range badge purchased on or after November 1st will be for 2020 at the full purchase price.
All new members are required to attend a Maryland Rifle Club safety briefing and range walk-through before they may purchase a range badge. MRC does not have walk-through reciprocity with any other club; in order to receive MRC’s endorsement for your AGC range badge, you must attend an MRC walk-through. We usually conduct a walk-through on the 2nd or 3rd weekend of each month. We are presently scheduling our walkthroughs for Sunday mornings, because AGC is not issuing new range badges on Saturdays. Occasionally we conduct special walk-throughs for folks whose work schedules are a problem. For special scheduling issues, contact the MRC VP — vice-president@mdrifleclub.org.
It is important to sign up in advance for a walk-through. Group size is limited to 15 individuals. If you show up unannounced and you are #16, too bad. See below for sign-up information. If online sign-up doesn’t work, send email to vice-president@mdrifleclub.org.
For the walk-through, meet in the parking lot below the 200 yard range. The lot for the 200 yard range is at AGC Lane and Marriottsville Road, a few hundred yards south of the main entrance to the range. We start promptly at 8 am, so please be on time. We will walk all the ranges before they go hot at 9, then we will move into the range house for Q&A and paperwork. We will have your membership cards there that day, and will hand them out at the end of the walk-through. You can then purchase your range badge from AGC. If you bring a check for your range badge, make it out to the AGC, not MRC. As soon as you purchase your range badge you will be able to use the range. If you plan to shoot that day, secure all firearms in your vehicle until after you get your badge.
We strongly encourage you to print and read the range rules before you come. You can find them at: http://www.associatedgunclubs.org/rangerules.htm
