AR-15 Service Rifle Clinic

The AR-15 Service Rifle Clinic is presented by the Maryland Rifle Club with assistance from the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC) and the Maryland State Rifle Team. The clinic is run once a year in the early spring in preparation for the following High Power match season. Anyone with an interest in High Power Rifle Match shooting is invited to attend.

The clinic is limited to the first 40 shooters to apply.

The purpose of the clinic is to introduce shooters to the basic techniques of High Power Rifle shooting and to prepare the shooter to enter his or her first matches using the AR-15 Service Rifle if they so wished.

This is a two day clinic with instruction and shooting every day.

The clinic is held: March 28 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Barnes Range House
Registration 7:30-8:00 am

April 4 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Barnes Range House

We will begin each day with classroom instruction and then move to the firing line for live fire instruction. Instruction consists of such topics as safety, equipment, position, sights, trigger control, and match procedures. On the range we refine these topics and coach the student through the various strings of fire.

The clinic will have Match grade AR-15 rifles and ammunition for use of the students. If you intend to buy a rifle for High Power Match shooting PLEASE talk to me or one of the coaches first to insure that the one you buy will be correct.

If you wish to use your own rifle please talk to me about ammunition requirements.

The student should bring eye and ear protection, plus any equipment you wish to use. The coaches will supply shooting mats, stools and spotting scopes. If you have any questions prior to the clinic please give me a call or email.

DO NOT BRING LIVE AMMO INTO THE CLASSROOM!!!

Please come early so we can complete check-in and get started on time.

Bring a lunch, as there are no eating-places convienent to the range. A soda machine is available.

We will spend a good part of each day on the firing line, so dress accordingly and if it looks like rain bring raingear as we will shoot rain or shine. The firing line is covered.

Directions to the clinic:
The range facilities of the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore, Inc. (AGC) are located on Marriottsville Road in western Baltimore County, at the intersection of Marriottsville Road and Wards Chapel Road. The AGC ranges are approx. 3½ miles southwest of Liberty Road (Route 26), approx. 5½ miles north of Interstate 70. The road entrance leading to the Barnes Range House, is located on Wards Chapel Road just west of the intersection with Marriottsville Road. Watch for the signs on Marriottsville Road and Wards Chapel Road. There is a map at www.associatedgunclubs.org.
